Social media has been a growing standard in the public relations industry. Throughout my schooling and internships, I’ve gotten the opportunity to utilize social media as a public relations tool and to hone in on the aspects of different social media sites. Below are a few different examples from sites I managed during and internship and a few that I had come up with during class based off of press releases.
As Social Media Marketing Intern at Oak Patch Gifts, I created the Jody Coyote Instagram account. The above example is my first post after creating the account. For this particular post, I wrote the caption, came up with hashtags that coordinate with Jody Coyote’s brand, and created the content by using a photo from their catalogue and photoshopping “Hello, Beautiful” on a transparent box using the color of Jody Coyote’s logo.
Another account that I created as Social Media Marketing Intern at Oak Patch Gifts was Jody USA. For this post, I also wrote the caption and used hashtags that were relevant to the photo and the brand. I also created/photographed the flat lay for this particular post.
For this assignment in J352, we were asked to create two different social media posts using the most recent press release from the organization we chose to write on behalf of. I mirrored the social media posts to the language Gov. Gary Johnson used on his social media and incorporated the hashtags he uses while still making sure it met character limitations.
